Aviso opens risk consulting operation

Aviso Specialty has launched a division that aims to widen access to senior risk management advice.

The Risk Intelligence business will be led by Nicholas Martin, a former head of Marsh advisory in the Pacific region.

Aviso CEO Josh Roach says senior risk consulting expertise has traditionally concentrated on large organisations and complex accounts, but Risk Intelligence aims to make that calibre of advice accessible to a broader range of clients.

Mr Martin says the model will give clients greater flexibility and choice in how they manage risk.

“This is not about creating fixed panels of risk consultants or prescribing pathways for clients,” he said. “Risk Intelligence is designed to help our brokers and clients access the right expertise for the right problem, whether that expertise sits within Aviso Specialty or via our broader network of specialist consultants.”

Aviso has also added to its mergers and acquisitions insurance practice, appointing Peter Gold in Brisbane, Dmitry Yatsenko in Melbourne and Kurt Sim in Sydney.

It says they will add senior depth across warranty and indemnity, tax liability, due diligence and claims.
