‘Role model’ advisers win conference grants

The Council of Australian Life Insurers has named the winners in its annual grant program for women in financial advice.

The ReCALIbrate funding recipients are Zoe Kennedy from Whitsunday Wealth, Natalie Lackner (Parachute Cover), Alyssa Turner (My Fortress Townsville), Clare Telford (Purely Finance) and Kristy Mitchell (Stella Advice).

They each get $2000 to attend the Financial Advice Association Australia conference in Perth next month. The council says the cash helps cover costs that can stop women attending industry events, such as time off work, travel, accommodation or childcare.

CALI CEO Christine Cupitt says the recipients highlight the diversity and leadership women bring to the advice profession.

“Each of these women is a role model in her community and represents the future of the advice profession,” she said.

“We’ve seen the ripple effect of ReCALIbrate first-hand, from the confidence it builds in women advisers to the way it changes conversations across the industry.”
