Platform creates base for Hannover Re innovation award
Konnect NET says its technology has helped Hannover Life Re Australasia win an award.
The reinsurer’s electronic health records unit won the Australasian Life Underwriting and Claims Association’s team innovation award earlier this month. It uses Konnect NET’s SureMed platform – an electronic health record that aims to improve efficiency and accuracy across patients, GPs and insurers.
The Konnect NET platform, owned by Dublin healthcare tech and services group Clanwilliam, has been operating in New Zealand for 15 years.
It launched in Australia 18 months ago and has secured major insurer contracts covering work with millions of people.
“Now the technology has even helped a top Australasian insurer take out a national award in innovation,” Konnect NET said.
SureMed integrates with clinical systems to provide health data, optimising insurer operations.
“We are showing Australian insurers what the future of the sector can and will look like with the right technology,” Konnect NET Australia head Sam Liebert said.
Health IT is an underutilised strategic tool in the Australian insurance sector, he says.
Konnect NET has set a target to onboard more than 15 major insurers across workers' compensation, life and health.
