Suncorp launches new claims model, announces key appointments

Suncorp has made a number of key appointments in its claims and operations team following the restructuring of the insurance business into two divisions.

The company in July appointed Paul Smeaton as COO insurance, with responsibility for claims management and operations and some group functions including real estate management and procurement, while Lisa Harrison was named Insurance Product and Portfolio CEO.

The insurer has confirmed key appointments reporting to Mr Smeaton, following previous changes that have included combining the commercial and intermediary distribution teams.

Anna Cartwright has been named EGM Motor Claims, responsible for the end-to-end claims experience, while Alli Smith becomes EGM Home Claims, with a remit that also includes a dedicated disaster response team.

Luke Whenman has been appointed Head of Commercial Property & Specialty Claims and will work closely with EGM commercial Darren O’Connell in Ms Harrison’s team.

Michael Miller has been named EGM Personal Injury Claims, responsible for portfolios including workers’ compensation and compulsory third party.

“Under this new model, we have strengthened our focus on dedicated motor, home, commercial and specialty, and personal injury claims teams to align to the needs of our customers,” a spokeswoman told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

“We have also brought our real estate, procurement and operations teams together. These changes are aimed at further strengthening our industry-leading customer claims experience, and include enhancements to our digital offerings.”
