NIBA reveals Queensland award winners

Kate Greaves was today crowned Queensland broker of the year at a gala lunch attended by more than 430 professionals.

The Goldsworthy General Insurance Services MD picked up the National Insurance Brokers Association award in her home town Brisbane.

The state’s young broker prize was won by Caloundra-based Your Insurance Broker senior account executive Emily Radmall.

The pair will now compete for national honours against other regional champions, including two from SA/NT who will be named at a NIBA lunch in Adelaide on Friday.

Ms Greaves’ win reflects her “going above and beyond” for clients, according to Ben Szczerbinski, EM major event claims at broker award sponsor CGU.

“I congratulate Kate ... This award recognises those who have made a significant impact on people, businesses and communities,” he said.

Peter Roberts, from young broker sponsor Vero, says Ms Radmall is an outstanding client advocate and her “dedication to ongoing professional development and her ability to inspire those around her reflect the qualities of a true leader”.

The broker finalists in SA/NT are Tailored Insurance director James McLaren, Gallagher senior account manager Martyn Luck and Guardian Insurance Brokers client relationship manager Natalie Basford – all based in Adelaide.

The young broker contenders are Star Insurance Solutions principal Joshua Clayfield, from Darwin, and Aon client service executive Fabio Lucano, from Adelaide.

National winners will be revealed at the NIBA Convention on the Gold Coast in October.

The association is accepting applications for its claims broker and community excellence member of the year awards until August 8.
