INsight podcast: voters unsure on TasInsure

Tasmania’s inconclusive election result leads discussions on the latest Insurance News podcast, after the Liberals promised during the campaign to introduce a new state insurer.

As previously reported, the party says the proposal would reduce premiums for households and small businesses, but insurers warn it poses a significant risk to taxpayers.

This week’s edition of INsight, hosted by Insurance News MD Andrew Silcox, features deputy editor Wendy Pugh and senior journalists Bernice Han and Miranda Maxwell.

The panel also discusses a renewed push by consumer and strata groups to reduce state insurance taxes in Queensland, underinsurance in workers’ compensation, and Aon’s report showing first-half global catastrophe losses were the second highest on record.
