Clover returns to home with new capacity provider
Underwriting agency Clover Insurance has resumed offering home and landlord cover, backed by capacity provider Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance Company Australia.
The tech-led agency had been seeking a new partner after previous backer RAC decided to refocus on WA direct personal lines last year.
Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance Company Australia (Adica) already provides security for the agency’s motor product. Clover’s other offering, business pack, is underwritten by a different partner.
Clover CEO Blair Nicholls told insuranceNEWS.com.au the business has “seen strong anticipation from brokers for the return of our home insurance product.
“With fewer provider options available across the market, brokers have been looking for additional capacity for home and landlords and choice for their clients.
“We’re delighted to bring the home and landlords product back to market ... supported by our flexible net rated model, giving brokers a high-quality solution to meet their clients’ needs.”
Adica chief strategy and partnerships officer Nick James says the relaunch “reflects the strength of our strategic relationship and shared commitment to supporting brokers with quality insurance solutions that meet the evolving needs of their clients.
“By combining Clover’s strong broker proposition with Adica’s underwriting, we are helping deliver a flexible and competitive solution for homeowners, landlords and renters across Australia.”
Clover says the home and landlord products offer “comprehensive and flexible” cover.
It has optional protection for home-based businesses and hobby farms, plus variable excesses for sudden escape of liquids and natural perils.
“Consistent with Clover’s long-standing approach across [our] product portfolio, home and landlord insurance will be offered on a net rated basis, providing brokers with the flexibility to determine their own remuneration structure and deliver transparent outcomes for clients,” the agency said.
