Clearlake aims to fund further growth

Clearlake Insurance Brokers says it is assessing options and considering bringing in a minority partner as it looks to fund ambitious growth plans.

An article in the Australian Financial Review today said the business – owned by John Angelis and Yianni Gourlas, and placing more than $250 million in annual gross written premium – has asked Barrenjoey to introduce it to private equity firms.

“Clearlake is constantly looking at its strategic options in the market and uses Barrenjoey as its banking adviser,” head of operations Julie Nantais told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

“We are very active with acquisitions and have considered bringing in a minority partner or debt facility to fund our continued growth.

“We have large and ambitious growth plans and are looking to fund the next phase of growth.”
