Champions for change: Dive In registration opens

Registration has opened today for this year’s Dive In, its biggest ever festival with more than 150 events to take place across at least 40 countries.

Organisers say the 2022 diversity and inclusion festival promises to be a powerful global event for positive change in the insurance industry. A combination of in-person, virtual and hybrid events will be held worldwide on September 27-29.

“We look forward to welcoming you to our three-day global event, inviting everyone in our industry to come together to become champions for change.”

Now in its eighth year, the 2022 theme is Building Braver Cultures, and allowing everyone to express themselves authentically in a welcoming workspace created by both colleagues and leadership, to build braver, psychologically safe work cultures – both on and offline – that truly allow people to feel safe, valued, respected, and free to express themselves.

Dive In Steering Committee Chair and Marsh Global Director of Media Relations Jason Groves says the festival continues to break new ground and this year will have a broader range of events than ever before.

"We are proud to confront the issues that have held back the industry, and wider society, for too long,” Mr Groves said. “To enable us to respond effectively to the complex issues facing our clients around the world, we need the fresh and creative perspectives a more diverse talent pool can provide.”

Lloyd’s-backed Dive In says its mission is to enable people to achieve their potential. From religion to neurodiversity, sexuality to mental health, the festival will challenge the industry to create braver and more supportive workplaces for all.

Participants will gain a deep understanding of lived experiences from a variety of people with diverse backgrounds and come away with tangible steps to cultivate an inclusive working environment.

The festival is supported by partners AIG, Allied World, Aon, Arch Capital Group, Aviva, AXA XL, AXIS, BMS, Chubb, CNA, DLA Piper, Everest Re, Gallagher, Howden and DUAL Group, Kennedys, Liberty Mutual Insurance, Lloyd's, Markel, Marsh McLennan, MS Amlin, Munich Re Group, RenaissanceRe, Tokio Marine Kiln, Travelers, WTW.

Last year, more than 31,000 attended from 103 countries, with 35 nations hosting events. This year, Thailand is among the countries to host events for the first time. Lloyd’s Commercial Director Dawn Miller says Dive In has made great strides in progressing diversity, equity and inclusion within the industry, but “the job is not over”.

“I encourage everyone to engage in the festival and challenge themselves to do better.”
