Aon pair take NSW broker awards

Two Aon professionals have been crowned broker and young broker of the year for NSW and ACT.

Director Debbie Gibson took the senior prize and regional manager Laith Parissi won the young talent category at a gala lunch in Sydney today.

The Sydney-based pair will now compete for national honours, to be announced at the National Insurance Brokers Association Convention on the Gold Coast in October.

They will be up against winners from WA, Queensland, Victoria/Tasmania and SA/NT.

“Congratulations to Deb ... Her expertise and integrity clearly set her apart as a standout senior broker and thatʼs exactly the kind of ambition CGU is proud to champion,” said Karen Spear, EM at award sponsor CGU.

Mark Wilson, state distribution manager at young broker award sponsor Vero, says Mr Parissi’s passion for the industry and dedication to clients stood out.

“His commitment to professional development reflects strong leadership qualities. Weʼre proud to back brokers like Laith who represent the very best of the profession.”

Ms Gibson was shortlisted alongside Momenta Insurance Advisors’ Peter Boshell and Insure Today’s Harpal Singh. The finalists in Mr Parissi’s category were Marsh’s Justin Micale and 111 Insurance Services’ Jason Wang.

“The finalists this year have gone above and beyond for their clients and made a genuine impact in their communities,” NIBA CEO Richard Klipin said. “They should all be proud of their efforts.”

Today’s gala lunch, attended by almost 550 people, was at Sydney’s Fullerton Hotel. More state events will be held on Friday at Optus Stadium in Perth; July 15 at The Star Brisbane; July 17 at the Sofitel in Melbourne; and July 24 at Adelaide Oval. Register here.
