Zurich life CFO takes up wider role after changes

Zurich Life and Investments CFO Daniel Longden will also take up financial responsibility for the General Insurance businesses across Australia and New Zealand from next week.

Mr Longden takes up the expanded role following changes last July when Zurich named Justin Delaney as Country CEO as it moved to put in place a unified leadership team across the life and general businesses.

Current General Insurance CFO Stuart Farquharson has been appointed CFO at NSW state-owned insurer icare, starting on October 11, and will remain with Zurich until July.

In other appointments effective next week, Sean Walker is appointed Head of General Insurance, reporting to Mr Delaney and Matthew O’Sullivan is appointed Chief Underwriting Officer, General Insurance reporting to Mr Walker.

Mr Longden, who was appointed Life and Investments CFO in November 2020, has more than 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry, including insurance, reinsurance, superannuation, platforms and investment management.
