Sophie Haslem has joined the board of New Zealand insurer Tower, filling a casual vacancy.

Chair Naomi Ballantyne says Ms Haslem brings commercial judgment and governance experience, and has a track record of helping organisations transform and use technology to deliver better outcomes.

“This experience will be valuable to Tower as we continue to execute our strategy and build a more resilient, customer-focused business,” Ms Ballantyne said.

Ms Haslem was formerly GM commercial and investment at New Zealand Post and has held board positions at Nib New Zealand, CentrePort, Rangatira Investments, Payments NZ, Livestock Improvement Corp, Rangatira Investments, Kordia, MetService, Oyster Property Group and the Akina Foundation.

She will be eligible for re-election in February.
