Johns Lyng homes in on strata rebuilds

Johns Lyng Group has launched a strata services division to focus on building and restoration repairs for strata insurers.

It will operate initially throughout NSW, before a nationwide rollout.

The company also announced today it has been awarded a contract with strata insurance specialist CHU, for repair and restoration works in NSW and large-loss (more than $50,000) works in Queensland.

Former Allen & Newton strata division chief Robert Noyes, who has worked in the strata sector for more than 15 years, has been appointed GM Strata Services (NSW).

Johns Lyng CEO Scott Didier says Australia has 2.5 million strata lots at an insured value of $995 billion, so a dedicated strata division “presented a compelling new opportunity”.

“With the residential apartment construction boom along the east coast, continued population growth in major cities and more people choosing strata apartment living, this is a real opportunity to introduce Johns Lyng’s expertise into this sector,” he said.

The company says the division will also explore opportunities in the strata direct and remedial building sectors.
