Suncorp says Yen Saw will join its board as a non-executive director.

Ms Saw has more than 30 years’ insurance experience in Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, the UAE and Netherlands.

She spent three years as Tokio Marine Insurance Malaysia CEO and has held executive positions at Aviva, Swiss Re, Transamerica Life and Prudential.

“Yen’s appointment is an important part of our ongoing board renewal at Suncorp, aimed at ensuring we have the appropriate mix of experience, skills and diversity to achieve our strategy,” chairman Duncan West said.

Ms Saw will leave her non-executive director position on QBE’s Asia advisory board, which she has held since 2020. She will continue in a similar role at Manulife Singapore.

Her appointment, subject to regulatory review, is expected to begin by June 30.
