‘No planned changes’ to local workforce amid Allianz Partners AI push

Allianz Partners says there will be no changes to its Australian workforce after media reports on possible cuts of up to 1800 jobs worldwide in the next 12-18 months.

A spokesperson for the Allianz subsidiary said: “Allianz Partners is dedicated to growing a strong and sustainable business that meets the needs of our customers, partners and employees.

“As technology revolutionises our industry, we are evaluating how to strengthen our position as the industry leader by leveraging AI.

“There are currently no planned changes to the Australian Allianz Partners workforce due to the implementation of AI in Australia.”

Reports in Germany last week said Allianz Partners planned to axe 1500-1800 jobs as its use of artificial intelligence increases.

The reports, citing company sources, said the cull would mainly affect call centre operations in Europe.

Allianz Partners’ core offerings include travel insurance, and it employs 22,600 people worldwide.
