Johns Lyng cleared to buy stake in insurance building firm

Johns Lyng Group can go ahead with its plan to acquire a 60% stake in C&M Build Group, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission says.

While the two companies overlap in the supply of insurance building and restoration services, the deal is “unlikely to have the effect of substantially lessening competition in any market,” the ACCC concluded in its review of the proposed transaction.

The commission review decision says “the merged firm would continue to face competition from multiple providers of insurance building and restoration services.”
