Gallagher has expanded its New Zealand operations with the purchase of Albany Insurance Services, a retail broker with commercial and personal lines clients in the Auckland and Canterbury regions.  

“Albany Insurance’s market expertise and client-first culture will enhance our brokerage operations in New Zealand,” Gallagher chair and CEO J Patrick Gallagher said. 

Gallagher says the Albany team led by Jeremy Bleakley will operate under the direction of New Zealand head of retail brokerage operations Carl O’Shea. 

The global broker has about 160,000 clients comprising business, rural, personal and life and health insurance in New Zealand, according to its website.
