Ex-NZ chief takes on IAG simplification job
IAG’s former New Zealand CEO, Amanda Whiting, has become group executive for enterprise growth and simplification.
She takes the new position on the group leadership team after announcing last November that she would return to Sydney. Phil Gibson has taken over as New Zealand CEO.
“This new role will leverage [Ms Whiting’s] track record in driving growth and delivering results, both in her time leading our New Zealand business and before that in various leadership roles in Australia,” IAG CEO Nick Hawkins said.
She has a deep understanding of market dynamics, customer needs and preferences, and how to deliver “distinct and differentiated” strategies for retention and growth, Mr Hawkins says.
“At the same time, she appreciates the need to continually simplify our organisation, in service of our customers and our growth ambitions. This will be the focus of this enterprise-level role.”
