Delta ‘refreshes’ with promotions, new roles
Delta Insurance New Zealand has promoted Dinesh Murali to be chief underwriting officer for NZ, saying it plans to broaden its product offering.
Eight other new roles have been announced, with several filled internally and others still in the recruitment process.
Simone Batty has been promoted to be operations manager, moving from the NZ underwriting operations manager job, and recruitment is under way for a new head of distribution.
Delta was founded in 2014 and offers 18 product lines. Its restructure follows the opening of offices in Christchurch and Papamoa, establishment of an in-house claims team and the launch of a commercial motor line.
The changes will “refresh” the Auckland team, with a focus on liability and property, bringing clearer separation between underwriting, distribution and operations functions, and will expand the central team in Papamoa.
“The new organisational design aims to sharpen leadership accountability, clarify roles and responsibilities, and ensure operational efficiency across a growing team,” CEO Andrew Beaton said.
“In some areas, we’ve had overlapping responsibilities that simply aren’t sustainable as we continue to scale.
“By maximising our structure and clarifying expectations, we’re setting up our people and our partners for long-term success.”
