Allianz Australia Life Insurance says David Kane will become acting CEO after Adrian Stewart stepped down from the role.

Mr Kane is also acting CEO of Allianz Retire+, which provides retirement income products.

He joined the business in 2019 as chief technology officer and became COO in 2020. He previously spent 18 years at Macquarie Group, holding senior roles across technology, product, operations and strategy for wealth management and banking.

“With a strong track record in technology-enabled transformation, [Mr Kane] brings the strategic execution capabilities needed to deliver modern, customer-first experiences in protection and retirement markets,” chairman David Plumb said.
