Suncorp announces leadership switch
Suncorp’s commercial and consumer insurance chiefs will swap roles, as part of a range of executive changes announced today.
Current consumer insurance CEO Lisa Harrison will from next week lead the insurer’s commercial and personal injury portfolios. She will also retain accountability for the rollout of Suncorp’s digital insurer program.
Michael Miller will shift from his current position of commercial and personal injury CEO to lead consumer insurance.
Meanwhile, chief risk officer Bridget Messer moves to the newly created role of CEO customer, brand and digital.
“This dedicated function brings together existing brand, marketing and digital distribution teams and will ensure Suncorp capitalises on the competitive advantage provided by its suite of market-leading brands,” the insurer said today.
“The new function will also ensure Suncorp realises the opportunity AI provides for faster and more efficient distribution of insurance products and services.”
Michelle Bain, currently EGM of compulsory third party insurance, joins the executive leadership team as chief risk officer.
Suncorp CEO Steve Johnston says the changes set the insurer up for the next phase of its strategy.
“As Suncorp moves through its platform modernisation and operational transformation agendas, the focus will move to leveraging these investments to create more contemporary products, deliver more personalised customer experiences, increase seamless digital self-service and use AI at scale to transform customer and claims processes,” he said.
The changes are effective from next Monday, subject to relevant regulatory approvals.
Suncorp this morning announced results for the year ended June 30. The insurer recorded $1.027 billion in net profit – down from $1.823 billion the previous financial year.
