Sedgwick unveils new appointments to Australia leadership team

Global loss adjuster Sedgwick says new appointments announced last week are aimed at supporting the expansion of its services and professional expertise in the Australian market.

As reported by insuranceNEWS.com.au, Leon Briggs takes up the Head of Property role, Emma Levett is Head of Forensic Advisory Services, Margot De Villiers is Head of Marine and Johanna Agar is Capability Development Manager.

Their appointments follow the recent announcement that Kimberley Daley will head the professional services division in Australia. She was most recently the business’s partner, head of forensic advisory services, according to her LinkedIn page.

“Sedgwick’s continued progress as a company is built on our rich heritage of world-class claims handling and responding to the largest claims where the very best professionals come to work,” Ms Daley said.

“These four appointments reflect not only our ability to offer opportunities for our outstanding colleagues, but also strengthen our commitment to developing our profession’s future experts and industry leaders.”

Mr Briggs joins the professional services division following 30 years in New Zealand with Sedgwick, including the last eight as national chief adjuster.

In his new role, he will manage key claims and oversee the quality of Sedgwick’s property adjusting team across Australia.

Ms Levett joined Sedgwick in 2019 as a partner in the Australia forensic advisory services team, where she has built the company’s expert fraud capability.

Her new role encompasses leading Sedgwick’s growing forensic advisory teams, including insurance, litigation, cyber, fraud investigation and class actions.

Ms De Villiers joined the business five years ago, where she was quickly recognised for her skills and appointed national marine cargo manager for Australia.

Sedgwick says Ms Agar returns to Sedgwick in a newly created role, in which she will lead a specialised team of trainers to work within the company’s global learning framework to support the development of its experts.
