NIBA takes professional development ‘beyond capital cities’

Brokers in Queensland can attend a series of professional development, industry insight and networking events next month.

The Queensland Roadshow – organised by the National Insurance Brokers Association and Council of Queensland Insurance Brokers – will visit Gold Coast on November 6; Rockhampton on the 10th; Mackay on the 11th; Townsville on the 12th; Cairns on the 13th; Sunshine Coast on the 24th; Toowoomba on the 25th and Bundaberg on the 26th.

Each half-day program combines a NIBA industry update, an insights panel on broker advice, communication and soft skills, a technical education session, and time to network with brokers and industry leaders.

NIBA president Nick Cook says the roadshow reflects the association’s regional focus.

“NIBA believes in being present where our members are, and a growing share of the profession works well beyond the capital cities,” he said.

“Over the past year we’ve stood up subcommittees in the ACT, the NT and Tasmania, and taken forums into regional communities.

“The Queensland Roadshow continues that momentum, and partnering with CQIB lets us reach brokers right across the state in their own communities.”

CEO Richard Klipin said: “Regional brokers carry the same responsibilities as their metropolitan colleagues, often with less access to professional development and industry connection close to home.

“This roadshow changes that. As brokers navigate ongoing regulatory and market change, being on the ground with them is how NIBA delivers on its commitment to the profession.”
