NIBA hails community champion
This year’s NIBA community excellence member award has been won by North Queensland Insurance Brokers area manager Kieran Volpe.
The National Insurance Brokers Association presented the prize, sponsored by Liberty Specialty Markets, at its convention on the Gold Coast today.
The honour comes after Mr Volpe was crowned 2024 Queensland broker of the year.
“Kieran impressed us with how he dealt with the flood event in Ingham, his home town, overcoming significant challenges that were personal and professional,” Liberty VP Peter O’Leary said.
Mr O’Leary commended brokers who “go above and beyond for their communities, those who use their skills, influence and compassion to make a real difference in peopleʼs lives”.
The award recognises exceptional efforts to help clients or contribute to the community.
NIBA CEO Richard Klipin congratulated Mr Volpe and the other community excellence award finalists – Steadfast IRS GM international John May and Aon Newcastle regional manager Julieanne James.
“Brokers are at the heart of helping communities recover. Kieran and the finalists exemplify the values of care and service that are at the core of our profession,” he said.
