CHU to help fund green strata upgrades
CHU has launched a grant scheme giving strata policyholders up to $10,000 to make environmentally sustainable improvements to their properties.
The insurer will allocate $50,000 in the Green Grant Program’s first year for body corporates and property owners that enhance energy efficiency, reduce carbon footprints and promote community involvement.
“The Green Grant Program represents our commitment to a sustainable future for Australia’s strata communities,” CHU CEO Kimberley Jonsson said.
Applicants must detail how their projects will either promote environmental sustainability or make a social impact.
Submissions must be made by body corporates, strata committees or strata owners; bids by strata managers, brokers or other intermediaries will not be accepted.
Policyholders are required to have been with CGU for more than three years.
A panel of industry leaders will review all proposals, and grant recipients will be announced on June 19 next year.
Applications are open until March 27.
