NIBA all set for sold-out convention

The National Insurance Brokers Association is anticipating a record turnout for its convention, which has officially sold out.

More than 870 professionals are expected to attend the conference, which begins with a series of welcome social events on Sunday at RACV Royal Pines on the Gold Coast.

There will be more than 50 speakers across 30 panels and sessions, as the convention spans a full three days for the first time.

New additions include a fringe stage in the marketplace, where delegates can make brief pop-up presentations; morning masterclasses – early sessions that bring together industry leaders and experts on key topics; and a wellness hub for attendees to recharge and connect.

NIBA Convention chair Lynette Walsh says the strong turnout “speaks volumes about the energy and the appetite of our profession to come together, learn and shape change. Thank you to our delegates, partners, exhibitors, speakers and other collaborators for helping us deliver a convention that truly reflects a growing, engaged broking community.”

The Gidget Foundation and the Pat Cronin Foundation are the conference’s charity partners, and NIBA CEO Richard Klipin says they provide an “opportunity to give back to the communities that support us”.

The convention will end with a gala dinner where winners of the annual awards for excellence in broking, insurance and underwriting will be named.

“The NIBA Convention is the place where the community comes together as the one united voice of the sector,” Mr Klipin said. “It’s a platform for our insurance broking profession to showcase its commitment to uphold the highest standards of professionalism.”

Insurance News will have a booth in the convention’s marketplace and is holding a contest in which attendees can share their stories, with a chance to be featured in our next magazine.
