Antipodean Underwriting says it aims to “do things differently” as the agency formally launches after months of preparations.
“We’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what brokers actually want from an underwriting agency,” CEO Jaydon Burke-Douglas says.
“The answer is surprisingly simple – responsive people, sensible underwriting decisions, competitive products, fast turnaround times and an underwriter who genuinely understands their business.”
“We want to make it easier for brokers to do business with us and, ultimately, to give them another reason to recommend us to their clients … we see a real opportunity to do things differently.”
Antipodean aims to offer a range of products including accountants’ professional indemnity, allied health, bizpack, cyber and privacy liability, general property and IT combined liability, according to its website.
Negotiations on capacity are close to being finalised with product launches expected soon.
The agency says it intends to “build its portfolio through close relationships” with brokers.
Mr Burke-Douglas was ProRisk general counsel and head of operations until April 2024 and he founded Antipodean in August that year, according to his LinkedIn.
