Marsh recognises ‘significant contribution’ of departing chief
Marsh has thanked former Pacific president Josh Roach – who left the business this week – for his impact and legacy.
As reported in a breaking news bulletin, Mr Roach will be replaced by Damian Schinck, who was previously head of risk management for the Pacific region.
In a note to staff seen by insuranceNEWS.com.au, Marsh McLennan Pacific CEO David Bryant says Mr Roach led the business through a “dynamic time and transitioning market”.
“I want to share that Josh Roach, Marsh Pacific president, has decided to leave Marsh, and I would like to acknowledge his significant contribution to our business over the past 15 years,” Mr Bryant wrote.
Mr Roach started as Pacific president in January last year. Previously, he was Marsh McLennan CEO in New Zealand, president of Marsh New Zealand and chairman of Marsh in Fiji. Before that he led speciality in the Pacific region.
“In addition to his business leadership, Josh’s passion for colleague wellbeing and making a meaningful contribution to our communities will leave a lasting impact,” Mr Bryant said.
“On behalf of Marsh McLennan, I would like to thank Josh for driving our growth ambitions, shaping the culture of Marsh and helping our clients navigate a complex risk landscape.
“Personally, I would like to thank Josh for his support and broad impact across our businesses – he leaves a substantial legacy to build on for our colleagues and clients. I wish him all the best for his next chapter.”
Mr Schinck joined Marsh in 2019. He has more than 20 years’ industry experience and previously held senior positions at Aon Risk Solutions in Australia.
“With more than two decades of deep expertise in the insurance and risk solutions sector, Damian has played a critical role in the expansion of the Marsh risk management business,” Mr Bryant said.
