Marsh drops McLennan in business-wide rebrand

Marsh McLennan will change its name to Marsh from January and has also created a technology-focused business and client services unit.

Businesses across risk, reinsurance and capital, people and investments, and management consulting will adopt the Marsh brand in 2027 following a transition period.

“In an increasingly complex environment, clients are seeking advice, solutions and insights that draw on expertise from across our firm,” president and CEO John Doyle said.

“The changes ... reflect the way we continue to bring our company together to better help our clients overcome challenges and find opportunity.”

Guy Carpenter will become Marsh Re; Oliver Wyman will go to market as Oliver Wyman, a Marsh business; the operating unit Oliver Wyman Group will become Marsh Management Consulting.

The new business and client services unit brings the technology, data and operations teams together and will harness advances in areas such as artificial intelligence.

Chief information and operations officer Paul Beswick will lead the unit.

“The rapid development of AI, and the insights it can derive from our data, will help unlock new opportunities for our clients and colleagues,” Mr Beswick said.

“By harnessing this powerful tool to simplify operations and elevate service quality, we will drive innovation and deliver efficiencies to reinvest in client value and growth.”

The company’s stock ticker symbol will become MRSH in January.
