Mainstay Underwriting’s motor trade insurance has been added to the Ebix Sunrise Exchange platform.

The product, underwritten by Lloyd’s, is designed for businesses including mechanics, service and repair workshops, tyre retailers, auto electricians, parts retailers and other associated motor trades.

Mainstay MD Adam Dalton says specialised insurance should be easy for brokers to access and place. “Our integration with Sunrise Exchange helps remove friction from the process, enabling brokers to secure tailored motor trade protection for their clients quickly and efficiently.”

The company focuses on established motor trade operators, with eligibility requirements including that principals have a minimum three years’ industry experience. It does not cover wrecking operations or tow truck businesses engaged in accident or breakdown towing.

Previously, Vero and Allianz were the only insurers providing motor trade cover on Sunrise Exchange.
