Latent defects specialist inks Aon distribution deal
Broker Aon will distribute latent defects cover from Resilience Insurance under an agreement announced this week.
Underwriting agency Resilience launched the latent defects product for high-rise buildings in 2022 and has six brokers as distribution partners, according to its website.
Its CEO, Corey Nugent, says the deal with Aon “expands the opportunity to deliver high-quality new dwellings in Australia at a time when this could not be of greater importance”.
The product gives owners and occupiers 10 years’ protection against the cost of latent defects in residential properties.
Aon’s local head of construction, Mary-Catherine Hamill, said: “As Australia faces unprecedented demand for new housing, our clients are navigating increasingly complex delivery environments.
“This collaboration enables us to offer a solution that helps to de-risk projects and reinforce confidence in the quality of new residential builds, providing better outcomes for owners, developers and the broader community.”
