‘His legacy will endure’: tributes paid to Trans-West chief
Trans-West Insurance Brokers CEO Pieter Versluis has died aged 76.
Mr Versluis spent nearly four decades at the Sydney brokerage, starting as an account manager in 1989. He moved to a GM role in 2002 before becoming CEO.
Trans-West has paid tribute to Mr Versluis as a “respected leader” who showed “unwavering commitment” to shaping the business’ direction, promoting employee education and professional development, and “strengthening the profession he deeply cared for”.
“His dedication to fairness, professionalism and genuine care helped build the culture that continues to guide our organisation today,” the company said. “His legacy will endure through the next generation of brokers and the values he instilled in our team.
“Beyond his professional achievements, Pieter was a trusted mentor, a loyal friend and a warm, steady presence. His wisdom, calm guidance and humanity left a lasting impact on all who knew him.”
Trans-West operations manager Sandra Barrett, who worked closely with Mr Versluis for 17 years, has been named interim CEO.
Mr Versluis is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren. A funeral service has been scheduled for March 9. Attendees are asked to contact Trans-West’s office for more details.
