Russell Hails has been promoted to head of MGA Solutions in Asia-Pacific at Gallagher Re.

The MGA Solutions team provides specialised reinsurance capacity and advice to managing general agents.

Sydney-based Mr Hails joined Gallagher Re last year. In the new role, he will work with colleagues across the region and the global program solutions team.

“This appointment represents a significant step in enhancing our MGA proposition in the region and we are confident Russell will drive growth and deliver exceptional results in this key area,” head of Asia-Pacific Roshan Perera said.

Mr Hails was previously a Lockton Companies partner, following 15 years as executive director of broking at Willis Re.
