French broker motors ahead with ChatGPT app
Leading French wholesale insurance broker April has launched an application within OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
The company says the move this week “marks a new chapter in insurance distribution” and makes it “one of the first insurance providers to offer access to a personalised insurance quote directly through a conversation with artificial intelligence”.
Users can obtain motor cover quotes by interacting with ChatGPT and “without having to complete complex forms or follow a traditional purchasing journey”, April says.
The April Moto application gathers details about users’ vehicles, personal circumstances and cover needs, then connects in real time to pricing engines to generate personalised quotes.
Users can complete their purchases in just a few clicks, the company says.
“Conversational interfaces are transforming the way consumers access information and make decisions,” April Group CEO Eric Maumy said. “With April Moto in ChatGPT, we are opening a new distribution channel that complements and strengthens our ecosystem of brokers and partners.”
Previous ChatGPT launches have stoked concerns over the long-term impacts of AI on brokers and the broader industry, resulting in a global sharemarket sell-off.
