Envest acquires Brisbane brokerage Amicus

Envest Group has acquired Amicus Insurance Services via its subsidiary Resilium Partners for an undisclosed amount.

Amicus, based in Brisbane, is a long-standing corporate authorised representative of Resilium.

Amicus Principal Gerard Scott will now take on the role of CEO. With commercial clients all over Australia, Mr Scott says Amicus has experienced significant business growth in recent years.

“This new partnership with both Resilium Partners and Envest allows us to continue to grow the Amicus business…while still maintaining our existing professional service and advice to our loyal customers,” he said.

Earlier this year Envest was acquired by UK insurance investment and distribution business Ardonagh Group in a $482 million deal that also gave it ownership of broking network Aviso Group.

Amicus has a strong presence in Queensland and NSW, Envest Head of Broking and Chief Distribution Manager Craig Robson says. With the backing of Envest the brokerage is “now poised for some serious growth opportunities”.

Resilium MD Ben Hastie says Amicus has been a leading practice for many years in terms of its size, gross written premium and growth.

“We are thrilled to now be working with Amicus as an equity partner and are excited about some of the plans for growth already lined up,” he said.
