The Council of Queensland Insurance Brokers named 12 award winners at an event attended by 280 people in Brisbane.  

The annual CQIB awards, which began in 1996, include two individual and 10 company honours.  

Vero’s Donnie Vergara won the Mick Lambert Barker Award, and the young professional of the year prize, sponsored by Vero, went to Stellar Insurance senior account manager Rachael Hirsch. 

“We are proud to be continuing the tradition of fostering connections and camaraderie among industry professionals,” CQIB president Danny Brandon said.

The 10 company award winners were:  

• All-rounder insurer of the year: Vero
• CQIB all-rounder runner-up: CGU
• Claims service provider: Allianz
• Insurance industry service provider: Attvest Finance
• Specialty lines provider: Emergence
• Commercial/residential strata provider: CHU
• Property/construction/engineering provider: Mecon
• Professional lines provider: DUAL Australia
• Liability insurance provider: Berkley Australia
• Motor/heavy motor/plant and equipment provider: NTI
