Berkley Insurance Australia has appointed Gareth Edwards as national head of claims. 

Mr Edwards has more than two decades’ claims experience across retail, SME, corporate and government clients in various product lines, including first party, third party and statutory classes. 

He joins the insurer from JLT Public Sector, where was a divisional manager for claims for three years. He previously worked at JLT Australia and at Liberty Specialty Markets as a property claims manager.  

Mr Edwards also has a background in law.
