Allstate gains Mitsui Sumitomo capacity

Allstate Underwriting Agencies has struck an agreement with Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance to provide capacity to the medium, small and hobby farm sector.

The agency says it is pursuing growth in the farm pack market and its product is designed to meet the needs of medium to small customers.

“MSI is a well-respected provider with a strong capital base and an emerging growth mindset,” Allstate head of commercial operations Rodney Bond said.

“This partnership ensures our ongoing support to the agricultural sector and enables us to continue to innovate with coverages to deliver excellence in the sector.”

Cover provided with the capacity includes farm property limits up to $7.5 million per location and vehicle limits of $5 million per policy.

MSI head of distribution David Hall says the insurer focuses on underwriting agencies with clear growth and profitability plans and a long-term view.

“Supporting Allstate is the next phase of the execution of MSI’s growth strategy,” he said.

Allstate, part of Envest Group, has operated for 18 years, working with key broker partners nationwide.

The multi-year agreement means the capacity provider for the farm product changes from Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance for motor vehicle and Lloyd’s underwriters for the rest of the farm pack.
