Allianz Trade promotes surety specialist to APAC role

Daf Owen will move from Australia to Hong Kong to become Allianz Trade’s Asia-Pacific surety business development director.

Mr Owen has been national surety client director in Brisbane for more than three years and previously held senior roles at QBE, Aon, Atradius and HSBC across the UK and Australia.

“Daf brings a rare combination of underwriting, broking and banking experience to this role, built over three decades in the industry,” Allianz Trade head of surety and guarantees for Asia-Pacific Chris Markesteijn said.

“He has delivered strong results consistently for our surety business in Australia. I am confident he will make an immediate impact across Asia-Pacific.”

Allianz Trade specialises in surety, collections, structured trade credit and political risk. It is headquartered in Paris.

“The role spans two continents, and the surety opportunity across that footprint is still largely in front of us. I could not be happier to take this on,” Mr Owen said.
