State launches CTP, lifetime care scheme reviews

NSW policymakers have opened a review of the state’s compulsory third party insurance scheme.

The upper house’s Standing Committee on Law and Justice is also reviewing the state’s lifetime care and support scheme, which pays for treatment, rehabilitation and care for people severely hurt in motor accidents.

The committee examines the schemes once every parliament and the last review was in 2022.

“The regular statutory review of these schemes allows key stakeholders the opportunity to provide feedback on the schemes that directly impact them,” committee chair Greg Donnelly said.

“The committee is keen to hear from regulators, legal and insurance stakeholders, and also welcomes all other contributions.”

The closing date for submissions is October 10. Find out more here.
