Regulators reveal plan to meet expectations

The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission have set out statements of intent showing how they will meet government expectations.

The move is a response to federal ministers’ statement of expectations – a formal document spelling out strategic priorities, objectives and policies for organisations within ministerial portfolios.

The organisations must report on progress against targets in their annual performance statements.

The documents are designed to promote transparency and accountability. See APRA’s statement here and ASIC’s here.
