Supermarket chain Aldi has been censured for failing to comply with its NSW workers’ compensation self-insurance licence conditions.

The State Insurance Regulatory Authority issued a letter of censure following concerns about the company’s claims management.

It found Aldi failed to demonstrate claims and injury management performance of an acceptable standard.

SIRA says Aldi has been undertaking remediation activities and been subject to enhanced regulatory oversight since 2023.

An independent audit in May this year found ongoing issues in areas previously subject to remediation and supervisory attention.

The regulator will continue to monitor Aldi’s performance and compliance, and failure to demonstrate sustained compliance may lead to further action.
