Strata Community Association Australasia CEO Alisha Fisher will step down after almost eight years leading the organisation.

The association says Ms Fisher, who took the top job in August 2018, oversaw a period of significant growth in the strata industry peak body’s advocacy, education and policy work.

During her tenure, it strengthened its engagement with governments and regulators as scrutiny of the industry increased, particularly following building quality and governance reforms in several jurisdictions.

Ms Fisher also led the SCA through the Covid-19 pandemic, when strata managers were required to respond to rapidly changing public health restrictions and emergency legislation affecting apartment communities.

Among her other achievements, SCA has highlighted the establishment of training body Strata Education, development of the Strata Insights research program, and work to strengthen national education standards, accreditation pathways and the association's code of ethics.

Ms Fisher says she has focused on improving professionalism in the strata sector through stronger education, advocacy and industry standards.

“I leave with confidence that the industry will continue to grow and thrive through the passion and commitment of its members,” she said.

SCA says it has begun the search for a new CEO.
