Macquarie surveys brokers, underwriters, insurtechs

Macquarie Group is undertaking a business sentiment “check in” survey to gauge how insurance brokers, underwriting agencies and insurtechs feel about the future.

It will share the results and industry specific themes early next year.

“The last two years have been truly extraordinary,” Macquarie National Head of Insurance Segment David Ball said. “We’ve launched the 2021 business sentiment survey to understand how professional services firms have managed through this period and are feeling about 2022.”

Macquarie says it hopes to gain an understanding of the experience of businesses in what has been an extraordinary period in history brought on by the COVID pandemic and responses from leaders.

“The purpose of this survey is to understand the way that people in business have managed the challenges of 2020 and 2021, the attitudes and sentiment of our business community, and changes that may be arising,” it said.

Recently departed National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) chief Dallas Booth urged all insurance brokers to complete the survey.

“Macquarie always does an excellent analysis of the challenges and opportunities facing insurance brokers,” Mr Booth said. “This one should be a cracker.”
