Insurers to revisit storm-hit Clifton
The industry will hold another claims support session in the Queensland town of Clifton next month, to help customers affected by a hailstorm last November.
The Insurance Council of Australia says the June 8-9 sessions allow policyholders to meet with insurer representatives.
“Attendees will also be able to access general information to help with claims and recovery, covering the claims process, dispute resolution and other useful insurance matters.”
ICA director of mitigation and extreme weather response Liam Walter says the November storm “left widespread damage in Clifton … for some, the recovery isn’t over yet.
“Hail is one of those events that can have a long tail, with the full extent of damage sometimes taking time to surface. Insurers are committed to progressing claims from this event.”
The sessions at Clifton Senior Citizens Centre run from 10am to 4pm and bookings are not required.
