ICA heads back to flood-hit Ingham

The Insurance Council of Australia will host more consultation sessions in the north Queensland town of Ingham to help customers with flood claims from earlier this year.

The sessions allow residents to meet with insurer representatives and to receive general information on claims processes and dispute resolution options.

“Insurers are committed to supporting those in Ingham and surrounds who may be facing challenges in their recovery and look forward to this further face-to-face collaboration,” ICA mitigation and extreme weather response director Liam Walter said.

“This will be our fourth time in north Queensland since the February flood event.

“We encourage anyone who feels they may benefit to come along and meet directly with their insurer for one-on-one support.”

The flooding in February, declared a “significant event”, has resulted in more than 11,000 claims and about $283 million in insured losses.

The consultation sessions will be at Hinchinbrook Shire Hall from 9.30am-5pm on November 4.
