TAL’s preventative screening rewards program a success

TAL says incentives encouraging more of its customers to undertake examinations aimed at identifying and reducing the risk of future health conditions has been a success.

TAL’s Health Sense Plus program, introduced a year ago, rewards customers with a 5% discount off their lump sum premiums every two years if they undertake preventative screening and maintain a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 19 to 28.

More than 1 in 4 customers were motivated to undertake a preventative screening test during the last year, with 95% of those indicating they intend to continue with preventative testing.

TAL GM Health Services Priya Chagan said the positive response was particularly pleasing against a backdrop of disruption to people’s usual engagement with their GP during COVID-19 restrictions.

“Now, more than ever, it’s vital that people continue to have preventative screening tests in order to proactively manage their health,” Dr Chagan said.

The rewards are available to TAL customers who hold Accelerated Protection policies and Niall McConville, TAL GM Retail Distribution, says the initiative helps financial advisers have more holistic conversations about health.

“Given the high customer engagement we’ve seen so far with the TAL Health Sense Plus program, this could be a real point of difference for advisers,” he said.
