TAL to ‘accelerate’ cloud, AI use with Microsoft
TAL has made more investments in artificial intelligence under a new five-year partnership with Microsoft, expanding the two companies’ working relationship.
In 2024 the pair signed an agreement that gave Tal extended access to Microsoft’s suite of AI offerings and other digital tools.
TAL says under the new agreement the US tech giant will jointly invest in the life insurer’s engineering capability to consolidate its data on Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing platform and build a suite of AI tools.
“The … agreement will accelerate TAL’s advanced cloud and AI capabilities through infrastructure and skills investment to support employees in delivering relevant, accessible life insurance and retirement income solutions,” the insurer said.
Microsoft and TAL will also work to design programs that build AI skills across its business.
“AI is intuitive for some, newer for others, and we’re focused on closing that gap, giving employees an edge in their careers and ensuring they’re set up to safely use data and AI to help customers and innovate for the future,” TAL chief information officer Hinesh Chauhan said.
