TAL taps Westpac exec for claims role

TAL has appointed Westpac executive Georgina Croft as Chief Claims Officer.

The life insurer has been looking to fill the role since Ms Croft’s predecessor, Jenny Oliver, was named Chief Executive Group Life and Retirement last October. Ms Oliver retained the claims role on an interim basis while a replacement was found.

Ms Croft will join from March 1. She has spent the past 13 years at Westpac, where she held leadership roles including COO of the bank’s insurance division and, most recently, chief customer services officer at BT Financial Group.

TAL says she has experience leading large operational teams and has had accountability for front-line customer service functions, plus experience across mergers and acquisitions, transformational change, risk and compliance, and corporate governance.

“Georgina’s extensive leadership experience and customer focus, joined with TAL’s continued investment in digital-first claims services and our people, will continue to make the end-to-end claims experience better, faster and simpler for our customers,” TAL Group CEO and MD Brett Clark said.
