TAL introduces wellness program

TAL has joined the ranks of life insurers with wellness programs, launching its Health Sense: Fit For Life scheme.

The program will offer lifetime discounts to reward clients who improve their health.

GM Retail Distribution Niall McConville says the program offers an automatic discount of 7.5% for clients within a specific body mass index range, and up to 15% with bundled products.

“We’ve made this program simple because we know how complicated life is already,” he said. “So clients don’t need to sign up, pay, track or record to get access to the Health Sense discount. It is a policy for life and there is no need for annual check-ups.”

Mr McConville says the program will evolve, with new initiatives and health metrics.

TAL has signed up Body-Brain Performance Institute coach Paul Taylor to address advisers at roadshows across the country.

He is an exercise physiologist, nutritionist, neuroscientist and research professor at the University of San Francisco.

“Working with Mr Taylor will help us, and advisers, approach upcoming industry change to uncover new possibilities about what this industry can offer clients,” Mr McConville said.

“During the TAL Health Sense roadshow he will help advisers understand how we can tackle the decisions that precede change. Professor Taylor will also provide tools to make changes smaller and more manageable, to achieve the desired outcome.”
